Oratory

Hye everyone..
This week, we are going to talk about orator or oratarian..
Do you know what does it mean by the orator or oratarian..??
Let us tell all of you about it..
Orator or Oratist ia a (public) speaker..
Oratarian is the meaning for the "one who orates"..
Do you think that it is easy to be an Oratarians..??
For me, I don't think so..
Why..??
I do have my own reason..
It is so scared being in front of many people..
Especially people that I don't even know or familiar with..

Many people think that Oratory is an attractive study..
BUT...
To be truth is,,,
Oratory is attractive but difficult study..

Cicero (writer in 55BC) claims that in Athens "where the supreme power of oratory was both invented and perfected"..
It also means that no other art study has more vigorous life than the art of speaking..

He also warns that otarory fits into more arts and areas of study than people might think..
This is the reason why this particular subject such a difficult one to persue..

Speaker must have a knowledge of many matters in order to have successful rehetoric..
Plus, they must also form a certain style through word choice and arrangement..
Speaker should understand human emotion so as to appeal to their audience..
What does it means from this is, through style, it brings in humor and charm, as well as the readiness to deliver and respond to any attack ..

Other than that, speaker also must remember complete histories of the past, as well as of the law..
Another diffcult skill in order to be good orator is, the speaker must deliver with control by using gestures, playing and expressing with features, and changing the intonation of his voice..
The orator have a big resposibility because they must have a knowledge in all important subjects and arts..
Without this, his speech would be empty, without beuty and fullness..
The term "orator" in itself holds a responsibility for the person, in such a way that he should be able to treat every subject with distinction and knowledge..

The important of Oratory to society and state..
Oratory is one of the greatest accomplishments that a nation can have..
The power that oratory can give to a person - including the ability to maintain civil rights, words to defend oneself, and the ability to revenge oneself and a whicked person..
The ability to converse is what gives mankind our advantage over other animals and nature..
It is what creates civilization..
Since speech is so important, why sould we not use it to yhe benefits oneself, other individuals, and even the entire states..??

The Orator must Know the facts..
In order to speak effectively on a subject, the orator must have some knowledge of that subject..
Can an advocate for or against war speak on the subjects without knowing the art of war..??
Can an advocate speak on legislation if he does not know law or how the administration process works..??
An expert of the natural science also must use oratory style to give an effective speech on his subject..
For example: Asclepiades, a well-known physician, was popular because of his medical expertise and also could share it with eloquence..
The Orator can have Technical Skills, but must be versed in Moral Science..
Anyone who can speak with knowledge upon a subject, can be called an orator, as long as he does so with knowledge, charm, memory and has a certain style..

There are many orators and can be divided to two groups, that is :-
# Ancient and Medieval Orators
# Modern Orators

Example for Ancient and Medieval Orators :-
-Thiruvalluvar, (Ancient Tamil Poet)
-Decimus Magnus Ausonius
-Francesco Petrarch, (Father of Humanism)
-Marcus Fabius Quintilianus

Example for Modern Orators :-
-Winston Churchill, (UK PM)
-Adolf Hitler, (Fuhrer of Narzi Germany)
-Henry Clay
-Daniel Webster
They are all being recpects by everyone for their skills..
I really hope that one day I also can be a great Orator just like them..

Thank You...
