so, i'm gonna tell you about the indigenous people of FIJI..
do you know where is NAYAULEVU, VITI LEVU ISLAND??
of course its in FIJI right??

FIJI is located at the SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN.
it is a home of 800,000 people and most of the population are indigenous people,
and the other half are Indians. A few percent of the poeple are Chinese and European ancestary. Project under going now is PEACE CORP project, and also began project for water supply, village sanitation, poultry and alternative food crops.

FIJI had listed in the list of the most beautiful country and has weather that rarely exceeds 90f degrees in the summer or 60f degrees in the winter. FIJI are looks like our country. The village are very calm with the traditional houses and the harmony condition. The houses have grass-thatched roofs and woven bamboo or grass walls. woven pandanas mats cover the floor. Its take place of carpet in our country but they doesn't have to make any payment. Before the European influence, the hilltop of the island provided more protection during the war. The old village was near a cave where the women and children hide during battles.


The FIJIANS children are usually very happy, socially, well-adjusted and well-behaved. They are very different in contrast with development country. They have a good behaviour althought they doesn't go to school to have a civic lessons.
It can be a rolemodel to new generations. Many parents of development country could learn valuable lessons on child-rearing from FIJIANS. They enjoy with their life and doesn't give their parent problem to take care of them. How about you??

FIJIAN GATHERINGS and CEREMONY
FIJIAN villages are the great places because there are no taxes, no home mortgage and no insurance payments. The aged are respected and this FIJIAN are rich of culture. The traditional ceremonies held for weddings, funerals and other inter-village gatherings.
The culture are very unique. It is too complexity of FIJIAN culture to tell you directly.

The man at right of this photo is presenting a lot of baskets of food and a whale's tooth (tabua) to the nearby village where his wife was raised. they had several children and he is thanking her village. Its can overcome a better relationship between two villages.

This group of women are prepare a gift of many yards of cloth material to give to the village that they are visiting as part of the culture. Traditional gifts include livestock, coconut oil, yaqona (kava), dalo, other foodstuffs, tabua, kerosene and cloth are also the common gift.

This photo show that the FIJIAN are having a celebration of a new village. They will have a traditional war dance and a fiest. Everyone are taking the chance to have a great time together.
